It is true. I just wanted a brighter light for when I'm riding at night. I wanted to make sure people could see my brake light. All this started when my break light broke. It was at that moment I decided to change all the lights to leds. Had I known the hassle, I would have just gotten a regular bulb. Haha. But it turns out my taillight was broken anyway and I needed to reground it. So I guess it was a good thing I decided to go led. Fixed a couple things doing it. All in all, worth it for me. It's really just personal preference.
