I picked up a set of LED turn signals, am I able to keep my stock flasher relay, or do I need to pick up one of these 12v LED Electronic Flasher relays that I see being sold?

thanks!

Aaron

Depends on how much resistance the led's have. You can get the led flasher or add resistance to the sercuit .. add a resistor to the positive lead of each light. The flashers work based on the amount of resistance in the sercuit. So plug in the lights you got and see what happens. Some times there is just enuph resistance and they flash really fast and sometimes they don't flash at all, so give it a try.

Is there a chance the voltage will be to high and blow out the LED? Im planning the same idea but using those little bullet licence plate lights.

1) No, you're probably going to need to get an electronic flasher.

2) re: butcher - overvoltage will damage LEDs however most have inline resistors to bring their voltage down. LEDs operate on 1.5-4v individually. Higher voltage is brighter but much shorter lifespan.

so if you're using auto accessories, you're ok.
