Damn , That it one clean XS. Where did you you get the fender and the seat?
The rear fender might be from an 81, not sure. The front fender is stock 77. It was pretty bent up so I rounded the front and trimmed up the back. The seat cover is from Saddleman, fit over the stock pan and foam.
Its the genuine SR500/400 bracket.Did you make up the bracket yourself..?? Is it a cheaper frt drum option than the xs1 wheel..?
fun little bike. going to do some more work on the tank today and will probably list it in the next week or so.
Listing as in selling?
I like it a-l-o-t!
Where did you get your rear fender??
Hi Everyone!
Here's my daily driver 1982 xs650 and what has been done to it:
Mild port n polish to the cylinder head
Homemade 0.017" copper head gasket
VM34 carbs
1.75" exhaust and Mikes' shorty megaphones
Remote spin on oil filter
Bronze swingarm bushings
Tapered roller head bearings
Kick only
Fresh paint courtesy of some friends of mine in Waterloo WI
Blood, sweat, and tears.
This is my first bike I've ever ridden and I bought this bike back in 2008 when I was a senior in highschool. It's been one of the best things that's happened to me
Bike belongs to Steve from Madison. Runs handles and brakes great. Pipe has a very nice sound. It's a one off in mild steel. Can't recall who made the muffler. The guy who built the pipe ground his mark back off it, because he didn't want to have to build another one! Finish is just oil sprayed on it when it's hot.
Bike started out as a 79 special II Behr supermoto wheels Rear shocks off a Honda 1000 I can't recall what the front suspension is from. A work in progress.
