That is what I meant to type...duh.
Did you make up the bracket yourself..?? Is it a cheaper frt drum option than the xs1 wheel..?

Thanks.

Damn , That it one clean XS. Where did you you get the fender and the seat?

The rear fender might be from an 81, not sure. The front fender is stock 77. It was pretty bent up so I rounded the front and trimmed up the back. The seat cover is from Saddleman, fit over the stock pan and foam.

:)There are!

Its the genuine SR500/400 bracket.
Both brakes (XS1 & SR) are similar, though not identical, fitment is the same. Id have said it was cheaper to source an XS1 drum over there in the States than an SR one from Europe, drums are becoming very popular(and pricey, £300+) over here now,
I bought three of them quiote a few years ago when they were reasonably priced.

Some from today

She looks good sittin there.

Listing as in selling?

Hey Johann

Yeah. I have a few bikes I will never sell, but often pick up projects and non-runners like this one to complete and sell to help me buy new tools, new/bigger projects, that sort of stuff. For me, the only way to make any money with bikes is to flip them quickly and I enjoy it.

heres my 1973 tx650

Bike belongs to Steve from Madison. Runs handles and brakes great. Pipe has a very nice sound. It's a one off in mild steel. Can't recall who made the muffler. The guy who built the pipe ground his mark back off it, because he didn't want to have to build another one! Finish is just oil sprayed on it when it's hot.

Bike started out as a 79 special II Behr supermoto wheels Rear shocks off a Honda 1000 I can't recall what the front suspension is from. A work in progress.

Hi Everyone!
Here's my daily driver 1982 xs650 in it's latest form and what modifications it's got so far:

Mild port n polish to the cylinder head
Homemade 0.017" copper head gasket
VM34 carbs
1.75" exhaust and Mikes' shorty megaphones
Remote spin on oil filter
Bronze swingarm bushings
Tapered roller head bearings
Cartridge emulators
Kick only
Fresh paint courtesy of some friends in Waterloo WI
Blood, sweat, and tears.

This is the first motorcycle I've ever ridden and I bought it back in 2008 when I was a senior in highschool. It's taken me to see wonderful scenery, meet new people, and appreciate drivers who look out for motorcyclists.

Neet tell us about the remote oil filter.

Looks like it would be a good candidate for the twistys...

Gentlemanjim,
Here's the thread that I used for instruction on making the remote oil filter modification. It was very helpful and the diagram that PamcoPete made was extremely helpful. The oil filter flange is actually off of a tecumseh 14.5hp lawnmower engine and the filter that I'm using is a WIX 51215. It's been great so far except for the fact that the bolts holding the assembly onto the front motor mount crack over time from fatigue. That's one issue that I have to solve yet, but so far it's been great!
