long clutch rod option

when installing the long clutch rod do you not use both balls. my 1982 has or had the two balls and two rod set up. i went with a new seal, bushing and long rod set up. any tip let me know. thanks, all of my questions thus far have been answsered, u guys on this sight are great..

use the ball in the worn gear, and the ball between the rod, and the 't' looking part that contacts the clutch plate.

heu one more easy one? i forgot which way the smaller machined end of the long clutch rod faces. does it go towards the cover or inside the engine facing the clutch?

Anybody have the OEM part # for the longer rod?

I ordered one on Ebay the other day, and it's actually shorter than the one I have already.
