Lowering front forks

Gentleman, i have a tc brothers hardtail frame on the rear of my 1980 special. Any recommendations on how much to lower the front forks to keep a decent geometry for cruising?! I havent lowered it at all yet and im going to push the shock tubes up through the triple trees to get a feel but wanted some input from anyone that may have already done it. Fishman

I have the same hardtail. Lowered my frontend 3 inches. I have a 21 inch front with a 16 rear. What size wheels are you using?
