Hi!
I just bought this speedometer from xs650shop.de

No I realize that my stock speedometer is of course mechanical
How can I convert so I can use my new speedometer?
Which product do I need?
Sorry for being a total newbie

Electronic speedometers operate with some sort of magnetic pickup that meters speed. In some systems there's a Hall effect signal generator in a housing that threads into the mechanical speedo drive. In others, a magnet has to be mounted somewhere on a wheel, usually inset into the head of a brake rotor or rear sprocket bolt, and a pickup mounted near the magnet to count the turns. There should be some means of calibrating the speedometer. If the picture you posted shows everything you received, you don't have everything needed to make the speedo work.

hey im gonna do the same thing to my xs. i think i found the part i need but i havent tryed it yet so i dont want to steer you in the wrong direction.

What? It came with no directions on how to install it? No installation kit? :wtf:
