I just got the 76 Reissue Master Cylinder in:

http://www.mikesxs.net/product/08-6009.html

But it doesn't seem to have a terminal for a brake light switch. I chose it because I liked the look of the round reservoir and the price. Description didn't say anything about there not being a brake light switch. Did the 76 not have break lights for front brake?

Does anybody know a way to rig up the existing switch or a switch to wire in that would work? I know i can probably hop down to Radio Shack and pick up a "momentary normally on" that might be small enough to fit in a hole i drill. Didn't know if anybody else had a better idea.

No there was no switch at the M/C. A hydraulic switch was used at the brake hose junction on the triple tree.
The solution is very simple, use a banjo bolt pressure switch. Many sources have them, including MikesXS:

Make sure you get the threading specified. I'm in Austin, and I usually keep one around, but I just put my last one on a bike yesterday.

On my 75 it had the switch on the junction for the hoses on the tree. Like in the pic.
I used a banjo bolt switch when I converted the rear brake to a disc brake. Works well.
A pic of that too.

Unless you have the early 2 piston caliper the 16mm won't work with the later brake. The 77 on caliper has one piston and stock MC size is 14mm. The 16mm caliper will work with twin disk brakes up front.

From the way the OP is talking he has a 76. They used a one year only fork set up in 76 They just moved the two piston caliper to behind the forks instead of in front.
The 16 mm bore does work with the two piston caliper just not very well. It works about the same with two of the single piston calipers of the 77 up years, Again not as well as the 14 mm.
I know it won't look like a 76 M/C but one of the later 14mm M/C's will work better than the 16 mm. I might even try one of the 129 mm bore M/C's that can be bought off Ebay for around $30.
Now if Mike's would get that round M/C with a variety of bore sizes, like 14 down to 10 mm in 1 mm increments. Then we could get one that looks right but works right too.
I would buy one in a 13 mm for sure.
I have a 76 14mm M/c on my 75 but a 13 mm round one would look better and work great.

I just got the 76 reissue hooked up to my 78. it seems to work fine so far. pretty stiff. I like the fact I can just unscrew the cap on the reserve. the action is pretty stiff.

It seems like they have two hyrdaulic switches. the first one dog bunny posted is a 10mm with a 1.25mm thread:
http://www.mikesxs.net/product/29-7002.html

I'm assuming that is the one I need since the existing banjo bolt fit right in. the other one is 10mm with a 1.0mm thread:
http://www.mikesxs.net/product/29-7003.html

I'm assuming this is the wrong one unless I had bought a Magura M/C.
