...why this big tree decide to make on side of big vertical rock slab its home..
IMG_20190608_093018.jpg

...so total mileage for today was 124 miles...2 or 3 miles of straight, the rest corners i think...

Moabite, there must be a fault running through the rocks that allows just enough water to seep in. I cannot see any green slime but that zig-zag crack at 2 o'clock may be the source. That erosion just above, to the left and below suggests water.

...rock in place hundreds of feet thick both horizontal and vertical, not a crust layer...
...how is this for big horizontal slab? A few trees and shrubs figure out way to survive.

...pretty amazing science, that huge solid rock, and for a tree to survive...(lots of examples though here)
...but juniper trees in big trouble out here if you look careful that species suffering or dying...

Lots of pics i post of mountains, here a few looking other way at sunset a few minutes apart from last nightView attachment 142894 View attachment 142895

Nice sunset photos!

That little Falcon....those were actually great little cars. I think they had a good body style and a lot of folks don’t realize that under that sheet metal is essentially a late 60’s Mustang. Most came with a 289 V-8 and a C-4 automatic.

Moabite, I hope you are ok and not too badly bruised and scraped after falling off your bike while standing up on the seat riding:
