Just sayin', a LH drill bit would of had that bolt out in about 15 seconds with no cover damage........
A set of LH bits in an index is about $10 at the local auto store. Worth buying and putting on the shelf "for next time"

If I had not broken the easy out bit off smack dab in the middle of the bolt that would have been the way to go. And thanks Joe, I got the credit.
