I have an XS engine (on a stand) and four tubs of XS parts that I need to get from my brother in Pennsylvania to Houston. PODS gave me a quote of $3500 which is only 5 x what it's all worth. I know that a crate could be built and shipped, but I would not ask my brother to do that - he's busy enough already. Any ideas on a cheapish way to do this?

Thanks!

Find a homeless guy, give him $75/day to ride the bus, give him a couple extra bottles of Moscato...

4 packages totaling 400 lbs with one package oversize can go Greyhound for under $400. (Houston to Pittsburgh)
Greyhound is excellent for frames and tubs of parts if both the shipper and receiver are relatively close to a full service Greyhound location. However, they have a 100 pound limit per piece, so no XS650 engines unless you remove the top end and ship it as two pieces.
