I kind of like buster not too interested in road brat.
I could always call it the yellow submarine.lol

By the way If you guys havent seen yet you need to watch the youtube videos posted by stories of bike they have some incredible videos.

It could be she is slightly miffed about the time you spend with the bike.
After all these almost do become sacred to their owners.
And it is symbol of devotion of time and effort. Acts of love.
Think about it. It does no harm to let the missus play along.
And letting her name it is better than letting her pick the parts.

She loves the bike, she helps me work on it and what not. She named it myrtle when we broke down on Front beach road in Panama City Beach Florida. She really doesn't mind the amount of time I put into it.
 
If you are still with her in 40 yrs you will understand the wisdom in my words.
Lets see you had an adventure. She picked the name because of that....
For peace (or for male perception read that piece) in the family leave it be.
 
How Many Yamaha's do you have? How many XS650's? It becomes more problematic when you have more than one bike of the same brand. I'd just call it my Yamaha but I know that isn't what you want so how about 'Mellow Yellow'?
