I dug some parts out of the boxes today and thought I'd ask you guys to identify them. I think the 3 parts with the yamaha logo are brake caliper parts?

is this some kind of updated ignition coil?

and lastly can anyone tell me if either of the forks and triple tree clamps are xs650 or other bikes?

Yup 72-76 calipers

Don't recognise the coil

The forks with the chrome dust covers and the rotor attached are 72 only forks. they don't mix or match any other years.
The second set appear to be 77 up 35mm forks but the rust is hopelessly bad.

The clamp on the right appears to be the 72 top triple clamp
The triple tree on top might be 72 also.
The lower left piece is not XS650

In your first pic the upper thing looks like the calipers from my XJ650 parts bike. A dual piston caliper. The other two things are an early two piston caliper. Those parts bolt togethder to make one caliper.
Pic #2 the coil looks like it might be a Boyer coil. Terst the ohms on the primary side. Depending on the ohms you may or may not be able to use it.
Pic #3, 4 and 5 Look to be the one year only 72 XS2, it only works with the one year 72 wheel. I would sell it.
Pic 6 the lower tree and the top tree on the right look like a set. The part sticking out of the front of the lower tree is part of the steering damper. It goes around a matching peg on the frame. A long bolt comes up through that part and a few other parts, up through the stem and out the top where a large knob adjusts the tension on the damper.
On the matching top tree it has no clamp bolts for the fork tubes. I think the tubes come up in the tree then the fork tube caps clamp the tree to the tubes.
The top tree on the left looks like the one from my XJ650. It won't work out to well without a matching lower tree.

lol and after looking closer I think the the triple tree thats actually on my 72 is from a later model cause theres a ton of spacers between the top of the neck and the top clamp.

The 70-73 frames use a shorter neck than the 74 up frames. I think about 5/8 inch difference.
