Ok this may be a dubm questchin but wial I ride my bike I notees that it starts leaking oil on to the kick stand around where the chain meats the engin is this how the chain gets lubed or do I have a major problom:banghead:

you have yourself a self oiling chain. ... haha yeah you have a leaking seal ... take the cover off clean everything up put it back together take a short rid take the cover back off and see where the fresh oil is coming from

Anyone want to lay odds whether its countershaft or pushrod seal?

If it's the pushrod it will be "washed" below it. If the countershaft nut is loose you can usually turn it very easily sometimes with your fingers.

Not a major problom, just a miner one.

Mine leaks from the countershaft if I fill it more than halfway on the dipstick. Below that, not a drop. But I think it needs a countershaft seal. For the time being I just fill it to half.

At a minimum, check your drive sprocket nut. It will cause a leak if loose, and worst case, I don't need to get into that. And they're often loose.

Both????
Yamaha went to great lengths to make it just like a "British" bike.
