New Old Guy From Kansas

Happy to be here, bought a nice unmolested 1983 Heritage Special yesterday, it's been in storage for several years, took it to my friend Keiths house (Geezer Garage guy) and he called late today to say it's running and sounds fine. Have been dealing with old motorcycles my entire life but this is only my second 650 Yamaha. I worked for the dealer in the late 70s to mid 80s so familiar with them. It's going to be left original with just a good cleaning. My other old motorcycle is way before electric starters so I think I'm going to enjoy this one.

Thanks for the welcome, yep, is a 57 Metropolitan vert. Joe, I talked to you a couple of weeks ago in North Lawrence, turned out my friend John sold a friend of yours an old /5 he got from me.

My '83 was that color, though when I got it there was a greenish tone to it from being left in the weather it's whole life. PO's, eh?
