This is my second build. My first build I used a TC Bros. Hardtail and it was awesome. TC Bros. Make a great product.
This build will be doNE with a custom frame from http://davidbirdhardtails.com/ . Dave has been super easy to work with. I'm going with a 7" stretch with a 2.5" drop and a 3" drop seat.
My hope is to get this bike done by the spring of 2016.
Follow along as this build gets done.
This should be a one of a kind build.
Pics to come.

I had to start over with another bike. Indiana has made it very difficult to get a bill of sale title.
I picked this bike up a couple days ago and started the tear down.
My boy loves wrenching with me and I like having him around. I also received my davidbirdhardtails.com hardtail and it is kick butt. David was great working with and he made me a very nice custom hardtail.
I'll post more pics as I go.

Do you really think we want to watch you hack up a perfectly good motorcycle???? Guess again. We're wasting bandwidth here at the very least.

Equalizer, post up some picks of your first build so we can see some credentials, then maybe 'some' of us can be swayed to lend a more helpful hand. Its just a battered abused bike. it really has no collector value at this point, it isn't old enuf, missed the mark by 3 years. nothing special about a special. I
Im leary too, 5t. It does look like a good candidate for a unmodified frame cafe' , But I don't have the $2000 to pry it out of his hands to save it. Do you?
Ive made my chop, I have my 1971 all original gem, and 1980 Im turning into a xs1 clone. I don't want another hardtail. I have a hardtailed frame all twisted up by a po. I don't plan on building it, but it came with a good motor. All bases are covered in my arena.
Relax, and enjoy the show.
Carry on, equalizer

Some progress has been made. I have the top end apart and waiting on parts to get moving forward. Getting ready to lower the front end 3".

I love the pop of silver on red. Even crazier is red and blue, but then you run into the superman look.

Ok I got some stuff done. My good friend Josh welded up the frame and neck gussets. I couldn't ask for a better look as far as the stretch and seat drop. It looks better than I was hoping for. I still need to lower the forks.
I also started to soda blast some of the engine parts. It's been a little slow going but still moving forward.
