I've had a '74-75 tank before, and I have one for the current project. However, the bike I'm working on now has some subtle differences.
It's definitely a '75. Maybe a late production '75?

For example, all the '75 gas tanks I've seen have a cap like this:

But the current bike has a later style cap. The paint seems to be original and the petcocks are the earlier style.

The footpegs on my other bike were more "rounded", both the rider and passenger pegs. The ones on the current bike look more like the ~'78 style pegs.

The knurls on the clutch and speedo cables were an X or cross hatch pattern. The ones on this bike are, again, like a later bike.

But so much is the same: gauges, carbs, breather, cam chain adjuster cover, etc. They're all "early" style, just like on my other B models.

And then there's the kick stand. It appears that the tang that one end of the kick stand spring loops around was broekn off and rewelded at some point. But the actual kick stand bracket is undamaged.
However, the kick stand seems too short. It doesn't hit the bumper on the frame. Yet, it holds the bike up correctly, i.e, it doesn't lean too much like a wrong/shorter kick stand would do.

Have the no's checked out.

The recess for the gas cap is very pronounced. I have found some minor differences between thre 74/75, 76/77,78/79 Standard tanks.

74/75 with the early 73 Type gas cap.

76/77 Tanks have a slight recess where the gas cap fits. Not as deep as the one showen, and the petcock mounting area has a large protrusion area for them to mount to.

78/79 Has a deep recess for the cas cap, As per your pic, has badge mounting tabs on the side of the tank and the petcock area is recessed into thew tank for mounting the Vacuum petcocks.

Would like to see a pic of the petcock and mounting area.

The lid was popped up in that pic. It's not really very pronounced. I'll get pics of the petcock area, but it uses the same style that was on the "early" tank.
