One of them Eureka moments...

Joel, here is a link to the Milwaukee screwdriver.

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/hand-tools/screwdrivers/48-22-2101

It looks like they use 3 1/2" bits. I use two hard all day installing cabinets and general home repairs. What I find missing from their set is small torx for appliance installation and posi for cabinet hinge installation and adjustment. The Phillips works but a correct posi bit is so much better.

Adding matching JIS bits to the mix would make the driver a great way to cut down on the number of tools I carry around. I will also be able to replace worn bits without throwing out the handle.

Thanks for the link! What are ECX bits? Never heard of them.

I'll think about making the 3.5" bits in the future. We're also looking at storage handles similar to that one, as it looks pretty handy.

They are used on electrical switches and outlets. There are two sizes. It a straight blade with a square bit set as a diamond in the middle. They work good if all you do is new work otherwise the usual mix of phillips, straight and square.

Hi everyone,

I just came out with a new motorcycle kit and I'd love to get your feedback on it:

I worked with some customers to group together the most common bits used on bikes and package them into as compact a kit as possible. It also comes with our new electroplated two tone blue and silver ratchet.

Let me know if there's any other bits you would need for an xs650 (still working on JIS)

Joel,

Do you make JIS bits? I did not see them in your website, they would be great to all of us working on old bikes. Pozidrive would also be great for me! For cabinet hinges.

Yes, I was going to ask the same thing. You could tap into a whole new market, the vintage Japanese bike scene, if you did. J.I.S. Phillips screwdrivers and driver bits are not easy to find.

I'm surprised I missed this thread when it first started as I'm a bit of a "tool junky". That 9600 kit looks wonderful and I will probably get one, supplementing it with M3 - M6 hex (Allen) bits.

Yeah, me too with the JIS bits, I'd never heard that JIS screws even existed until I read about them in this list but it does explain why my Phillips drivers cammed out of the XS650's crosshead screws so easily.
And as we have segued into screwdriver mode, when I am King of the World the next guy who dreams up yet another different screwdriver head system will be dragged out and shot.

That's wonderful news about the J.I.S. bits. Take my word for it, you will sell a ton of them. In fact, I foresee a new kit in your line-up aimed at vintage metric bike owners, consisting of the J.I.S. bits, metric Allens, and various straight blade tips.

I've ordered a 9600 kit. Once I have it, I'll fit up the proper straight blades to the Mikuni mains and pilots we use, and post the sizes here.

Hi, just wanted to let you all know that we now have JIS bits!

Oh.... oh....... goody. Im tired of grinding the tips of my phillips to use in jis screws

Hi rsor,
yeah, me too and I reckon so did quite a few other Canadian list members once the word got out.
The GoFast 'drivers are just great for garage use but far too bulky to carry in a bike tool kit.
Referring back to post #25, the Chapman Euro-Japanese motorcycle kit with JIS bits substituted
for Phillips bits will make a perfect XS650 ride-along set.
