OK local members, I see Princess Auto is advertising a $25.00 battery for a trailer break away module and says it is 5.0 AH. Dimensions are 4" high by 3.5 x 2 3/4 and weighs 3.6 lb.
The web site does not provide cranking power or any other spec's. Would this have any cranking power at all, or would it be totally useless even for kick only?

5Ah is is a rating of how many amps it takes to deplete a battery in 1 hour. 5 amps for 1 hour (10 amps/half hour etc). This type of battery is intended as a backup battery, not a cranking battery so it won't be rated with CCA. Pretty useless for bike application and may not like our older charging system either...

I recommend you go to Canadian Tire and buy a 14 amp/hr, lead/acid battery. They are very reliable, long lasting batteries. This stock size will crank the engine easily.

To buy a battery for $25 will just be a waste of money.

A battery that size might be ok for a kick start only. It would not work the starter.
