I would paint before. unless you like to do alot of masking. I know when i painted my alloys after polishing it took me about 1/2 -2 hrs to mask them.

Depends on what you're painting. Just the rim the. I'd paint first so you don't have to tape off a bunch of spokes. Otherwise I'd lace and just paint all at once.

i am painting the rim the spokes and the hub (front) drum (rear) so i was thinking about lacing and then paint it all at once just didn't know if i was not seeing any problems that that would cause.

I see no problem with that.
just use a good tack cloth before painting.
