painting carbs

I would guess that you would need to find something that is very durable/resistent to gas and oil. Oldskool carbs would be the one to ask as he does alot of rebuilding and painting carb bodies. Shoot him a PM, I am sure he will be glad to give you some advice on the subject because he is a great guy to deal with.

I'm interested in this also and if anyone has a quick run down on prep for blasting and paint it'd be appreciated.

someone painted my carbs and the paint blew up and looked terrible. i used a stripper to remove 95% of it ad it is still annoying to see. in my opinion i wouldn't paint them. for paint to adhere it has to be a ruogh surface like sandblasting...sand and carbs is not a good idea. any paint just sprayed on will blow up eventually regardless if it's rattle can, two stage. if anything maybe spend the $$ to have them polished professionally. all the best
