painting help

I did my first tank not 2 weeks ago. just with spray cans. when i got to laying down the clear coat it started to get cold outside and i tried 3 times to spray and it kept coming out cloudy. Really milky. It was bizzare as. I found out that it has to be slightly warm conditions for it to turn out right. I waited for a sunny day and left the cans in the sun for half hour and came out and sprayed and it looked awesome after that.
So weather can be a big factor.

I forgot to tell you that you have 24 hours after the base coat is layed down to clear it or the clear wont stick. If its over 24 hours let the second coat dry for a few hours then scuff the tank with a gray scotchbright. Then whip it down with wax and grease remover and your ready to clear.

If you don't clear within an hour or so you have to wait 3 days, with rattle can I have never had this problem as the coats are too thin to have a curing issue like painting with a spray gun.
