Just dink'n around?
Lotsa fun removing the tupperware from the Beemer?
Woof....
I've opened up airplanes with less screws... :cautious:
Installed a power connector to replace the factory proprietary one. Now I'm trying to wire in a voltmeter, (future) nav display and wiring for a coolant temp gauge. They pack stuff in tight on the damn thing.

Yep. I use the DeVilbiss DeCups system. They make adapters to fit most guns. Sure saves a lot of $$ on lacquer thinner, not to mention disposal of dirty thinner.
Just ordered these. Looks like a knockoff of 3M's first gen system. Comes out to about a buck a shot.
I got to thinkin'.... thinner's gone through the roof... prolly over a buck for each cleaning.... not to mention the time involved.

May be kickin' an' screamin'... but I'm getting drug into the 21st century.

Don't tell me about being dragged into the 20th century, I think I was the last guy in the country using a deVilbiss JGA-502 and I still use a flip phone and in fact I'm typing this message on a 16 year old Dell laptop. I think you'll like the disposable cups (mine are different than the style you ordered) in both time and material.

Standard, 76-79, and Special, 78-83/4, Gas caps are different.

Aftermarket Special, (dont know about the Standard), Gas caps from Mike's are not as well made as the Factory Caps. The mounting bracket on the rear is not as robust and the on the one i got the pin had slop in i. The cap when on the tank has movement as though it is not down hard enough. Partly to do with the pin having slop in it..................mmmmm wasn't happy with it at all

My Dell is 14 yrs old. Think we got our money's worth?
I have a Dell Inspiron 531 I got second hand from the guy I took a computer to to have fixed. He said something major, maybe mother board was the problem. Have no idea the age of this machine wonder if there is a way to find out? All I know is Microsoft says it can not support anything past window 10.

Cups are 6oz. The aluminum cup I have on the DeVillebliss is 8oz... so roughly the same, and more than enough for the tanks and stuff I do. Might take two cups for a frame, other than that, should be plenty.

You fill the throwaway liner... thinner for test purposes.

Put the cap and plastic ring on it...

1713227444138.png

Invert the gun and push the adaptor into the cup... a slight twist to lock it.

...and Bob's your uncle.

Unscrew the ring, turn it upside down and the cap and liner fall into the trash.

I think I'll keep one cup with a little thinner in it (they come with plugs) to run through the gun to clean the nozzle.... but I like it.... huge time and thinner savings. Winner winner, chicken dinner.
