pamco 277 or 270??????

had a local shop rephase my xs650 277 .the cam is from webcam. having a terrible time tuning it. mechanic says that he thinks my pamco is off and that its not a 277 unit.is there a way to tell??

Sure. Just check the timing with a strobe light. Your mechanic shouldn't just think the timing is or isn't "off", he should know. Your mechanic should have carefully scribed the missing timing mark using a degree wheel.

I might suggest you check the wiring. You may have it wired so the left side coil hooked to the right side. One easy way to check is swap the plug wires from left to right on the plugs.
