Pamco E advancer, Advance rod?

The only thing not advanced here is me. I'm doing my first build and need some advice on the Pamco Electronic advance and/or the advance rod. My engine is an 83 and I will be doing a PMA too. Can anyone tell me which is best or which one do I need. Thanks in advance.

You will for sure need an advance rod in your Pamco kit, those are absent in 80 and up engines. The e advance seem to be the favored route. It is best to install the Pamco ignition first before installing the PMA.

Many consider Hughs Handbuilt to sell the best PMA, do some research though as some people have been having issues with them lately. If your charging system still works you may want to keep it for now. A little maintenance can help, clean your rotor, check your brush tolerances, etc...

On any Pamco you need the advance rod. This is what locks the rotor to the cam.
