Paughco Rigid with 1983 motor

Looking into buying a Paughco rigid frame for my freshly aquired '83 special. But......they list the fitment for M.Y. 1970-1982 only. What is the difference with the 83's ? Anyone tried a Buell front end on this or any other xs650's?

Wait...... $800 for a frame?!?!?! Just buy someones already hardtailed project they gave up on!

The one Paughco frame I've seen is awesome looking, a lot different than a stock hardtailed frame.

yeah the curvy single downtube eh. Its cool looking for sure, maby its just the under employed in me being cheap.

Coming from an H-D back ground, $800 for a frame IS cheap! Besides I have about $1800 to play with for the build.

And another thing...Why buy half (or less) of a frame (weld on hardtail) for $300 to $500, when I can buy the whole frame (with raked head, and single down tube, foot control mounts etc...) for $800 with free shipping ?
Does anyone have experience with the fitment and overall quality of this frame? Are the welds straight and clean? What is the overall wheelbase?
