I took this pickup coil off my 83 heritage special. My stator went bad so I'm replacing the whole setup with a PMA. I did cut the block connector off the end of the pickup.

I'm interested in this part. I have an '82 that needs this part, and I can't seem to find it anywhere else! Do you know if this part will work on mine, even though yours is one year older?

I'm pretty sure it will work on an 82. Check out the alternator stator that Mike's sells: Part #24-2656. The description says that you need an 80 to 84 tci trigger(pickup). You may want to start a thread on here and ask just to make sure.
