pulling a 78 motor

ready to pull the motor out of my 78 sx650
looks tight.
can it come out whole or do i need to strip the cam cover?

Strip the cam cover? It will come out whole.

Try and search before you ask. It will save us both time.

thanks, back after a short hiatus. still have the 70 plus a 71 and this 78

was a bit tight wrestling it out. tilt forward and angle to the right.

probably take 2 guys to put it back after the frame is painted

Nah, just lay the frame on its side. Then install the motor.

Yep, that's easy when the frame is totally stripped like that, not so much when all the stuff is still attached (fork, wheels, turn signals, etc.). If you have access to a welder and a helper, you can make up simple lift handles which allow 2 people to remove/install the motor quite easily .....
