Purp Skurp build

FINALLY, we were able to figure out the proper spacing for my wheels last night. Since I'm using a stock xs650 hub laced to a 21" rim with no front brake, we had to make our own for the front. Good thing about having friends with a shop with millions of parts and pieces laying around. Rear brake has been kind of a pain in the ass. I'm using the tc bros universal linkage along with their rear brake stay rod, but placing my pivot and tweaking hasn't been easy. Last night we got it under control. We're going to have to heat up and bend the brake engage lever a little bit so that the linkage rod clears my frame rail. We're also going to have to rig a return spring of some sort for the brake pedal, because it doesn't return on it's own, smoothly. I'm heading back down to the shop this weekend so I'll take some more pictures.

For now, here's some more of the bikes they have layin' around the shop.

Ironhead my friend Lloyd is finishing up. He made the bars himself and I think they're fucking awesome.

Bike is coming along good. Stoked to see this thing on the road!

Put out a feeler for a knuckle for me. Looking to get started on one soon, but having a hard time sourcing non-repop cases or 20k for jugs.

Finished all the mounting today. The bike is complete as far as looks go (minus paint). Pretty exciting seeing as I've been in the process for a year and a half. Couldn't have done it without the help of some good people. Here's some pictures.

We took the whole bike apart and were doing all the finishing welds. After that I'm painting and assembling. More updates soon for those interested.

Dropped my frame tank and fender at my buddies house yesterday for paint. Hopefully well get started on it this weekend and ill post pictures. Pretty excited.

I'm diggin that seat setup. My girls been beggin me to throw a pad on for her...but that would require a fender too haha. Where'd you find that seat?

diggin all the photos of the old bikes. feel free to post some more of those in the shop. not a huge fan of the old school chopper look, but like where its going. ill be following your build and may go a different route on my build next winter. keep up the good work. nice and mild.

PAINT!

My buddy took these because I didn't have my phone, so they're not great quality. But, it gives you an idea of the color. In the shade/low lighting, the bike is almost black. In the sun, it sparkled that dark purple and it's EXACTLY what I wanted. Nothing like having friends with talent and that like helping you with shit. Anyways, I'm going back today to pick up the frame and tank, fender needs another coat. I'll be putting this bitch together this weekend so I'll keep you guys updated with way too many pictures.
