random clank noise from inside engine?

hey guys. its been a while. bikes has been going strong all last year and into this year. im having a problem now though. at cruising speeds (45-55) every once and a while ill get a noticeable clank noise from between my legs. its a short hollow sound. im not sure where its coming from and i cannot reproduce it. road conditions play no part. bike is running fine, no new leaks or other noises. no frame cracks.

it almost sounds like a tack weld popping, or maybe a rock hitting the gas tank.

any thoughts? or maybe a better way i can describe the noise?

Are your carbs in tune?

Checked plugs recently?

last week put new plugs in during spring oil/gas/plug change
