Here I am again with the same problem! I found the correct spacer needed #11-3h3-25377-00. so I put it on yesterday and caliper mount if still rubbing disc, only thing I can think of is lack of pressure to caliper piston to push it over 1/8+ or so to center rotor on/with caliper. another Q: is there supposed to be a thick flat washer on / before crown nut? doesn't show one on factory blue print, Is there a video anywhere on this planet showing the assembly or disassembly of this wheel? will have to tear it all back down if I don't get an answer fairly soon, which leads to another Q: is there a way to remove seals w/o jacking them up?

Is the axle the right diameter ie a tight fit in the wheel spacer and caliper carrier? That's not an XS650 rear axle.
Is the oft misplaced bushing spacer in the LEFT HAND wheel bearing? if the axle isn't centered in that bushing it could show up on the carrier. does wheel turn freely when the axle is snugged up?

Part #20 in this diagram it can be seen from the outside of the bearing when the axle is out, as a thin sleeve.
I prefer you find out why yours isn't fitting as it should (this IS rear BRAKES) but a 3/4" machine spacer between the hat spacer and carrier would probably get you centered. you might have to file the ID of the machine spacer out just a touch the axle is 0.787402"
Pics of two different rear disk set ups both with clearance between the carrier and rotor.

In this pics of yours the spacer and carrier do not look like they are even close to being centered with each other. if they are a tight fit on the axle they will line up better than that. Hate to even say this but the axle in use LOOKS like a 17mm Front axle not a 20mm Rear axle.......

Well 1st. I just want to say thanks for your insight on my problem.. axle in pic is 20mm but not for the xs-it was first one I bought off ebay when starting project-part #20 is on and center spacer is also correct- I will get another pic today of added washer which helped a bit- I think once brake fluid is added to caliper it might center itself or be very tight in which case I will remove added washers- OR find drum style rim and start all over....I think I have most of the components to do drum mag. put my tc bros. fwd controls on and I'm thinking I should go with drum brake will be less work to connect linkage, I don't know it's starting to get a little out of hand- thought I would be riding it by now and still have a lot of work to do sucks- should have bought an xs that was already running and driving and just put the hardtail on ! would have been done months ago...boo-hooo

As it looks in those pics I would measure the amount of space between the bracket and rotor on the inside where there is some gap. Find a washer that is half the thickness of that gap. Install this washer between whatever spacer you have and the bracket. This will move the bracket over so it has clearance.
When I put a disc brake on the rear of my 75 I couldn't find the right spacers. Found many not long enough so cut one down to get the bracket centered over the rotor.

Thats a front axle being used as a rear! A rear axle has more of a button head with a hole that goes verticaly through the head.
