I have an 81 650 special that had drum rear brakes, I have obtained a disc brake ,aster cylinder and a lever pivot thing but I cant fo the life of me figure out where or how the master cylinder mounts, wish I could at least find a picture can anyone help?

I'm guessing you mean a stock master cylinder but this dude makes a bracket to fit up an after market master cylinder, pretty clean. Goes by iron heart cycles, he's got a thread or two over in the shops section on here.

I swapped the drum for a disc on my 75. You need to find pics of a stock set up on a 78or79 that has the rear disc.
You then need to weld on a couple tubes of the right size and in the right place.
Not hard to do but getting it located above the brake pivot shaft so the rod on the pivot shaft points about straight up is important.
If it is off buy much you loose some of the adjustment range on the rod.
You will also have to build an adapter on the brake pedal stop so you can adjust pedal height.
