Hi guys

I'm rebuilding a '75 motor to swap into my '75 XS650B. Have done a complete teardown and sent the cases out for media blasting. Problem is that I overlooked removing the small needle bearing that the shift drum runs in.

Said bearing is now full of blasting media and needs to come out. Tried to pull the bearing out and now have it totally "F-ed-up". Will need to be replaced!

How does this bearing come out? There is a "Frost Plug" type cover on the back side, wondering if that can be removed and bearing race pressed out?

Hope I have not messed up a good set of cases by my stupidity...

Has anyone ever replaced this bearing?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks....

Will attempt to post a photo or two of my screw-up when I have more time.....

here you go .... . I did a video of removing mine last year.
Welcome to the forum by the way

no worries sport.:wink2:

If I hadn't had loads of help from all the guys on this forum I'd never have managed to rebuild my engine last year. Anything I can give back is my way of saying thanks.
