Ok if you can answer this I will be really impressed. Covers on speedo and tach are dry rotted after 40 years . I can disassemble connecter , but who knows where to get stock look wire cover material ..... Stock appears to be silver in color. I don't want to just wrap it with electrical tape. I'm sure I'm not the first one whose done this. I know main harness is different diameter as well. True stock silver is what I'd prefer.
Thanks in advance,

You prob won't be too impressed with my answer, but figured i would chime in.

I use hockey tape, or friction tape... Some call it cloth tape..

It's what you might see under the hood of a car... Flat colored, so its not shiny like electric tape and doesn't stick out. Looks factory to me.

Sorry for the lack of info about yamahas factory stuff, but its a good last resort.

If I understand your question correctly, then what you need is silver heat shrink tubing. Just Google "silver heat shrink" and you will find it.

I use bicycle handlebar tape. it sounds like the same thing hairyblackdude (nice name btw) described. the tape seals well and holds up to the elements. you can find it in any color, too.
