Hey guys, couldnt find an answer in past posts so seeing if your expertise can help. Had this problem since i purchased the bike, the right carb, if youre sitting on bike, has always popped or backfired when idling or coasting down hills. Also noticed with the air filter off that there is blow by from the carb out the front when the exhaust pops. Ive set the valves and even installed new kits on the carbs, synced them but it still does it. Ideas? Intake leak or bad valve seats?

Leak in the exhaust is most likely. Either at the head or later joints. After that look for a lean idle circuit, carb sync problem, maybe a low float setting as I've seen that help a time or two.

Started with the basic, air/fuel mixture screw (damn brass cap is a mother to get off) and done! Thats all it was, cleaned the screw and seat and now no mo popping. Thanks!
