Counting myself lucky to have seen the Allmans twice in their original lineup.
First at a college sponsored concert at the Cherry Hill Arena (December 16, 1970) where the lineup was the Allman Brothers opening the show, second was Van Morrison and top billing was Savoy Brown. Do I need to say the Allmans stole the show?
Within a year they were back at the Spectrum for a dance concert (no specified seating). When the lights came up the girls were swooning....Dickie Betts had cut his hair........

Had to do a search for the date.......
One of the peripheral girls in our group was somehow associated with the student council that put the Cherry Hill event together. She wound up on stage with Van Morrison to sing a bit with him. She seemed distracted at the mic. Afterward all she could talk about was how blue his eyes were.........thinking there was a little Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds going on.
