Let me preface this question with this fact; I have been riding only highly tuned 2t bikes where you have to wind out the engine to at least 7000rpm before shifting or it will start lugging.

What are the approximate shift points for each gear on a broken-in engine? I am used to going to almost the redline before I shift, and I am unfamiliar with 4t's. Thanks!

Shift points? on the old harleys we would just wait til the handlebars felt like baseball bats and then kick the lever:laugh:

2t, 4t, huh. I assume you mean 2 stroke vs 4 stroke.
Any way, 3500 to 4000 rpms is a good place to start. You can take it to 6000+ if you want. I don't, don't really need to. Fair amount of low end torque.

I'll second Leo on the 3500 to 4grand.
I'm running 18/32 gearing....now-on the low end for me- I don't lug her below 25 hundred in any gear except 1st and then i'll be clutching or moving to neutral.
