Shocks for MonsterCraftsman Brat

Picked up a monstercraftsman brat kit (en route), and have been researching shock options. What length do people recommend? And is there a specific model of bike shock that works better then another? I had planned on the burly slammers, but am wondering if 10.5" might be too low with the angle of the Monster kit...

Progressive Suspension 12 series will give you a whole heap of options...

I've owned progressives in the past for other bikes. More wondering if there is a specific model of bike shock (besides rebel) that works best. And if anyone has experience with this kit and a length that sits good. Leaning towards 11" sportster shocks, but torn between that and going 10.5"

Found this while doing research for a build, would been useful if it had view able pics... New thing that 'photobucket' doesn't work?
