Should I oil this air filter?

I know this is a very basic question but after doing some research I am still uncertain if I should oil this filter for my 1979 XS650 Special II:

If yes, should I dip it in oil or use an oil spray (K&N type)?

No oil. These are dry filters. I use the same ones on my 78 SE.

The filter looks so coarse that I was wondering if it would retain any fine particles.
