side stand frame mount

Hi to all. New member here, trying to fit side stand to 1975 xs but can't find the mounting.
I think there should be an angular flange sticking out from the frame in front of the center stand, to which the top of the side stand fits and gets bolted through. But I just have a flat bit on the frame. Is there a bracket I'm missing? Thanks Sid

Picture of yours would help. Other than that (US Midwest phrase) the diagram that you posted is a good representation of what you should have on your frame, unless your frame has been altered.

Hi Sid and welcome,
from what you post, a dreaded PO has cut the sidestand lug off the frame.
I bought a BSA plunger frame A7 back in the day.
It was a bargain because some genius had removed the side stand AND the centre stand mounting points.
What I did was buy a generic clamp-on sidestand from Halfords and I do believe they still sell them.
Bastard thing kept slipping around on the frame tube no matter how tight I reefed up the bolts.
Ended up brazing the clamp in place.
