Can i safely put my solenoid directly under my tank? Was just wondering about any flash/spark possibilities.

I'm not sure if it would fit. On the sparking stuff they don't spark of flash externally. All the operating parts are inside.
As far as sparking from shorts then just well insulkate the cables and wires.

The only advise I can give you is make sure neither Battery cable can come in contact with metal or you will get sparks. Why don't you hide it down at the bottom of engine where starter is.
