Speedometer Housing Cover

Hi guys. I was just wondering if anybody knows if the speedometer housing cover is the same from different years? My bike fell over yesterday and it dented the speedo chrome housing. I have found some on ebay but it does not clearly say it will fit my bike. Mine is a 1979 XS650 Special. Do you guys know if a housing cover from another year will fit? Thanks for you help.
