In my quest to find a rear hoop that is nearly identical to my front hoop I have come across an SR250 hoop.
Dimension are 16x2.15 and it has a 120/90-16 tire on it.

2 Questions:
I realize the SR is a much lighter bike. Is using this hoop safe?
If it is safe will I be able run a 130/90-16?

I checked out GGGGarys chart here http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44471 but it looks like not even the 120/90 is compatible if im reading this correctly.

I wouldn't use it. I think it's too narrow for a 130. The stock 650 16" rim was a 2.50 which is barely adequate for the 130 according to Gary's chart.

just for comparison I'm running a 110/80R/18 on a 3" and the tire has a nice shape, I think the edge of the tread and foot pegs scraping will occur about the same time. That's pushing pretty hard on the street. I have a 110/80R/18 on a 2.5 in the front and am lacing a 3" on a front hub now. The radials do tend to need a wider rim.

But why not just run this?

Buff the crap out of it and it'll look like chrome. That profile is quite close to the steel profile.
