can anyone help or advise? I have recently purchased a 1978 xs650, it starts and runs lovely on kickstart, but when using electric start, after the first couple of spins on starter motor, a rather horrible metallic "clonking/knocking" comes from within the rear end of crankcase, the motor was totally disconnected when I purchased bike, so I guess someone decided to isolate motor, and use kickstart only. This is a project bike at the moment, so I want to sort this before going too far with rest of work.
