Hey everyone, I'm brand new to the board and I recently scored a 1981 XS650 Special II. I ran some diagnostics and it looks like the both the rotor and stator are fried. I bought the little rotor removal tool and popped the rotor off tonite. I'm looking at sending both in to Tim Parrott Enterprises for a rebuild. My questions is:
Is there a trick to putting the rotor back on? It took a little bit of umph to get the rotor off, and now I can see that it is a press fit with a woodruff key.
This is my first metric streetbike, I am all to familiar with wrenching and rebuilding HD's, so I am somewhat mechanically inclined.
Anyone have any other ideas besides the rebuild?
Thanks in Advance to all, and I look forward to becoming more active on the board!
