Stock Spring Weight

All,

Taking this thread outside the Tango and Cash build.

Shortening a set of motocross forks to fit my brat build. Looking for the following information on a stock 1975 xs650.

Stock Front Suspension:

Spring Length?

Spring Weight?

Fork spring free length is 15.57inches, 395.5 mm.
Installed length is 14.98 inches, 380.5
Spring Constant k=0.58kgs/mm
I think this last spec means it takes 0.58 kgs to compress the spring 1 mm. That would be about 1.27 lbs. per mm. So to compress the spring 1 inch would take about 32.25 lbs.
Don't know if this is right but I got the specs out of my factory manual.
