suzuki GS 850 guage cluster to XS 650

Does anyone know if a cluster from an 81 Suzuki GS 850 will fit an XS? Other than changing wire connectors of course. I can get them for free and they are in good shape.

the gauges could probably be mounted but I believe there is a difference between the drive ratios (yamaha vs suzuki) at the front wheel drive unit

My thoughts exactly. But there are those that say otherwise, thus the seed of doubt has been planted.

If they both have the 2240:60 ratio speedo drive it will work fine, as long as you use the speedo drive from the wheel you are using. The tach is anyone's guess, but I'm thinking it won't work.
