Tach cable

Am i missing some kind of adapter for the cable? I got a cable from mikes, and it looks sorta like a speedo cable. Does anyone have pics of a 76 xs650 tach hookup?

I think you are missing # 4 in the diagram. A full threaded "adapter." It threads into your pic, and the cable threads onto it.
