Thanks for that, It's kick only so I reckon if it's a bit hard on the old bones I'll hook it up for kicking. XS2 motor in a TX frame 447 rods but 256 cam & crank rephased.

G'day
Back after a fairly non productive spell.
Last post Feb, since then I think I've just about got the wiring figured.
Frame & tank are painted and tail light mounted.
I've got an issue with my fork rebuild though.
I bought a pair of tubes from Mikes a fair while back and used the XS2/TX part number.
Problem is now I've rebuilt them the inner thread on the top of the tube is too short for the Cap bolt length.
When I look at the Haynes book1970 to 1983:
Chapter 4 - Figure 4.1 front brakes drum model shows a bolt with a proper bolt head, this is what bike bike came with.
When I ordered off Mikes, I ordered Part#27-2002 34mm fork Tubes for 72-73
When I look at the parts schematic from Speedand Sports, they show a bolt cap as hex head for the 72 & 73 as different part numbers.
Problem now is I don't what year my original cap bolts are or what year the tubes I got off mikes are.
Obviously the PO of Mikes bunched both 72 & 73 tubes together but according to the schematic with Yammy part No.s the cap bolts are
XS2 Cap Bolt 256-23111-60-00
TS650 Cap Bolt 366-23111-60-00
At the end of this explanation the question is,
Can someone tell whether the 72 or 73 had the short thread length so I can try and locate/order the correct cap bolts.

The bike has came a long way from where it started. Very good looking now. They can be a money pit, but money well spent compared to the joy you get from the first ride. The big fin 750 kit works well in hot weather and is worth the cost. The seat looks great.

Well the bike is on the road 4 days short of 4 years.
There are many thanks to the people on this site for their assistance and the tech articles they've put together.
Still stuff to sort out, clutch adjustment, tuning etc but it's on the road and getting there.
I hope the pics are attached.

You Really made a silk purse out of a pigs ear. Super nice looking and well done. I really like it a lot. Nice tank and paint. Enjoy the hell out of it. Thanks for showing us. Great pictures.
