I recently had the opportunity to purchase a unmolested mostly original 1982 XJ Maxim 650. Was intrigued to read that this was the bike that eventually would replace the XS in the Yamaha line up...was wondering why my 'ol girl didnt really warm up to her....As much in statute as these are alike....they are worlds apart to ride...one is a paint shaker...one is a sewing machine....

Those were , and still are, great bikes. They had a tough little motor, good brakes, shaft drive and sexy wheels, what’s not to love. Congratulations!
